Auto Body Work in Round Lake Beach, IL
Northern Illinois is hard on cars in a particular way, and it is not the accidents. It is the salt.
What winter does underneath
Chloride works into a seam, and corrosion starts on the inside where nobody can see it. Rocker panels, lower quarters, wheel arch lips, and cab corners go first. By the time a bubble appears in the paint, the metal behind it is already gone, and skimming filler over the surface buys one season before it comes back worse.
We cut back to sound material and weld in new metal, then restore the corrosion protection inside the panel the way the manufacturer did. That last step is invisible and it is the one that decides whether the repair lasts.
Repair or replace
Dented steel is stretched steel, and where the paint is unbroken, the area is reachable, and the damage stays off a body line, working it back is faster, cheaper, and better than replacing. You keep the original panel and its factory protection.
Where the metal is torn, creased across a line, or made from an alloy the automaker forbids repairing, it gets replaced. Modern vehicles put high-strength and boron steels in specific structural positions and those have published rules. We tell you which situation you are in before quoting it.
The rest of it
